Based in the Silicon Valley, I have over 25 years experience working in IT. My career started long ago as a systems analyst on VAX/VMS systems and I’ve gone on to hold a wide variety of roles in the Infrastructure space, starting as a Network Administrator and over the years have managed servers, storage, messaging, backup systems, data center operations, and more. Over my career I’ve had the great fortune to work on a lot of leading edge technology early on such as backup to disk, virtualization, and now cloud.

I’ve been working with AWS since late 2015, and currently hold multiple AWS Certifications including Solutions Architect – Professional and the Advanced Networking Speciality.

Last year I was honored to be invited to join the AWS Community Builders and have learned so much from other members of the community. With this blog I hope to give something back to the community, sharing lessons learned the hard way for other cloud builders to benefit from.
In addition, a lot of my work over the past few years has been in the Cloud Financials space, so I recently joined the FinOps Foundation to help deepen my knowledge in this area and share some of my lessons learned from my daily hands on work.
